A Child’s Journey of Water - Elementary school workshops
Join Katrina and Qelsey on a child’s journey to find water, meeting different characters along the way. See how water is important to all of us – animals, plants, and humans – and how our politics and our cultures affect our relationship with water. The use of masks and physical theatre make the piece exciting, visual, and engaging. The issue of water is personal for all of us. It is our aim that students will accompany the child on this high-stakes adventure, they will increase their awareness and their degree of ownership for the role that water plays in our lives, communities, and our world.
This one hour session on water, locally and globally is available for grades 1-6 and is an interactive workshop that connects students with communities in Nicaragua, who are finding ways to secure potable water for their drought stricken regions. This presentation is available from March 17-26, 2010 for morning bookings. A maximum of forty students per workshop is allowed and an open space is required for actors who are involved.
