About This Cause
The impacts of climate change are global, and the evidence is irrefutable: extreme weather, rising sea levels, massive crop failures, record temperatures, retreating glaciers, extinction of species.
The world’s poorest populations – those with the greatest dependence on natural resources, who are the most vulnerable to extremes, and with the least capacity to satisfy basic needs of food, water, healthcare, and shelter – are the first to suffer from climate change and unpredictable food and water supplies.
Our Work
Droughts and floods mean crop failure. Unpredictable weather means traditional farming knowledge is less relevant. Impacted food systems mean an increase in the number of people going hungry in the world. Climate Change is the biggest risk to economic development today.
Change for Children supports projects that build resilience, help communities to adapt to their changing environment and encourage collective action to strengthen societies in the face of change.
Taking a Lead from Bees
In Quiché, Guatemala, members of Cooperativa Buena Semilla are using beekeeping to strengthen livelihoods and build community resilience. With support from Change for Children and local partners, the cooperative hopes to expand production and grow new opportunities through hive-based products.
our Projects
Across Latin America and beyond, Change for Children partners with communities to implement locally driven solutions that improve lives and strengthen resilience. Projects focus on education, health, livelihoods, environmental sustainability, and community development to create lasting positive change.
