Powering Possibility

Designed in partnership with students from the University of British Columbia and made possible by your support during our Shine On Development Dinner fundraiser last fall, the coastal school solar installation project in Guatemala is bringing (as we write!) renewable energy to a school that has never had electricity.

Earlier this week, solar panels made their way by boat along the Rio Dulce, winding toward the Caribbean coast. Now mounted on the school roof, connections are being made, Chromebooks will soon be charged up, and lights will shine!

With solar comes access to knowledge and tools to bring education to life. This Earth Day, we celebrate the power of the sun to generate energy and create opportunity in places where both have been historically scarce.
