About Us

Change for Children was founded in 1976 by a small group of people in the Edmonton area who were convinced that concerned Albertans could make a positive impact in the fight against poverty and injustice, internationally and in their own communities. They were right.

At Change for Children, we collaborate with Indigenous communities in developing nations to tackle the root causes of poverty. Our mission is rooted in solidarity, focusing on sustainable solutions. We support projects that promote self-sufficiency and equitable resource distribution, maximize the impact of donations through government matching grants, and educate Canadians about global interdependence to foster greater justice and equity.
