When Wendy’s 7-month old daughter, Mayda, fell into severe malnutrition, isolated and in need of medical attention, she turned to the maternal and child health educator in her community. For 21 days, baby Mayda received medical treatment in hospital for digestive and blood infections. Through continuous visits by a health promoter and monitoring made possible through Change for Children’s maternal and child health program, Mayda’s condition—once dire—and her prognosis—once critical—have drastically and remarkably changed course.
