Paragon supports Guatemala Nutrition and Education Projects

Ambassador: Paragon Soil and Environmental Consulting

Paragon employees are committed to supporting nutrition and education projects in Guatemala’s western highlands — home to the Maya-Mam indigenous people.

Fundraising efforts will support Change for Children’s Community Food Security project working with indigenous, subsistence farmers in Comitancillo to address challenges in health and nutrition caused by climate change. Through the establishment of women’s groups and co-operatives and the empowerment of agriculture promoters, families learn how to diversify to improve nutrition, how to do more with less on often tiny plots, and how to adapt to changing and unpredictable conditions.

Fundraising efforts will also support Change for Children’s Technology for Improved Education in Comitancillo, Guatemala project, a project designed to open doors and expand minds in underserved, marginalized areas of the country through improved teacher training, innovative didactic materials, and mobile learning technology.
