Since the mid-1970s, Change for Children has been working with indigenous communities in Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru and with urban populations of migrants to the cities of South America who have been marginalized by their lack of access to lands and resources.
By strengthening indigenous associations, farmers’ organizations, women’s groups and local movements working in poor rural and urban areas, community-based organizations and their leaders have gained a stronger voice and the right skills to manage their lands, promote their rights and cultures and build a better, more prosperous future for all.
