Construction Season in the Bosawas

It is often said that Canada has two seasons – Winter and Road Construction. And although it is winter here now (or it will be soon!), it is construction season in the Bosawas, Nicaragua – not road construction (because there are no roads!), but school construction!

Construction of a secondary school in the community of Tuburus is set to break ground this month. This school will be the seventh secondary school constructed by Change for Children in the region. A five-room secondary school, generously funded by the Smith Family and in part by the Mark Chatenay Memorial Fund, will be constructed to extend the education of youth living in this remote community.

Bring on Construction Season!
