About this location

Extreme poverty and immense inequality characterize the beneficiary population here and high rates of HIV and AIDS and a lack of access to basic health care and education perpetuate cycles of underdevelopment. Youth and women disproportionately share the burden of disease, and lack food, education and economic opportunity.

Our work

Change for Children has worked in many of Africa’s culturally diverse nations over the past 40 years. Today, our work continues in South Africa, where we have been working supporting community based health care since 2009.
