Legacy School Construction Complete

Construction of our five classroom secondary school in the village of Tuburus on the Coco River in BOSAWAS, Nicaragua began in November. A crisp coat of paint and substantial sturdy benches capped off its construction! This school, the seventh secondary school constructed by Change for Children in the region, has been generously funded by the Mark Chatenay Memorial Fund.

Special thanks to all those who contributed to this project in honour of Mark Chatenay who felt a strong connection to the Bosawas and who showed great support towards initiatives to advance the health, human rights, and education of its people.

Much gratitude also goes to the Hurl-Smith family whose commitment to supporting the areas of greatest need in the Bosawas over the past eight years continues to show us that a small group of people can indeed have a big impact in the fight against poverty and injustice, just as our founder, Hank Zyp set out to prove.
